Tile and paint are the last things to go on and the first things anyone looks at. Both are almost entirely about what happened before them — flat substrate, clean lines, proper prep. That is the part that takes the time.

Layout And Prep Are The Job
A tile layout is decided before any adhesive is mixed. Where does the full tile start, which wall gets the cut, does a grout line collide with the middle of the doorway. Get that wrong and no amount of skill setting the tile fixes it — the room reads slightly off and nobody can say why. Get it right and it looks inevitable.
Paint works the same way. Colour takes twenty minutes to choose and about ten percent of the labour. The rest is filling, sanding, caulking every gap in the trim, and priming the patches so they do not flash through the finish coat. Two coats over an unprepared wall costs less on the day and looks worse for years.

Do you do tile and paint as part of a remodel, or on their own?

How long before I can use a tiled floor?
Adhesive and grout both need cure time, and rushing it is how tiles come loose and grout cracks. Expect the room to be out of use for a day or two after the last grout depending on the product and the weather. It is in the written schedule so nobody is guessing.
Do you move furniture and cover everything?
Yes. Furniture moved or covered, floors protected, and the site cleaned at the end of each day. It is your house being lived in while work happens, not a job site you visit.
